EUROPEAN HEALTHCARE VALUE CHAIN

NETWORK

Connecting the pharmaceutical supply chain to create value for patients

The European Healthcare Value Chain Network’s mission is creating a more efficient and sustainable healthcare supply chain to make medicine available to more people and to ensure patients have access to the latest health technologies under the best safety standards.

Members of the Healthcare Value Chain Network understand that collaboration is the key to better serving this mission and have created this platform to further stipulate exchange, learnings, and expertise amongst supply chain stakeholders. We believe that increased collaboration creates opportunities for improved and sustainable business models and can help deliver meaningful solutions for better patient care!

ABOUT

Cater and improve patient experience

Build networks with healthcare partners

Increase supply chain flexibility

Create trust and transparency

Our Network’s members believe that only through trustful partnerships and greater connectivity can we truly serve and create value for our patients.

As a platform for exchange, the Healthcare Value Chain Network was established to facilitate the sharing of information, expertise and solutions in the pharmaceutical supply chain. Our aim is not only breaking down the classical barriers to partnership and collaboration between stakeholders on typical day to day supply chain matters, but also providing the right environment for trust building to ensure together we deliver on the patient-centred health care promise.

Our Network offers an excellent opportunity to overcome operational and supply chain management challenges in value chain creation. It also provides an interactive environment that facilitates joint initiatives, projects, research and events in healthcare logistics and management.

Governance and structure

The Healthcare Value Chain Network was established as an initiative of the European Healthcare Distribution Association (GIRP).

Our objective is to build a truly multidisciplinary multi-stakeholder network connecting peers from industry, healthcare distribution and point of care providers with the aim of delivering value in healthcare for patients.

The network’s meetings and events are hosted by GIRP and bring together high-profile representatives from the pharmaceutical industry (branded and generic), full-services healthcare distributors, healthcare retailers and healthcare service providers. Its priorities are established and managed by all partners. Partner meetings take place up to 3 times per year, typically in Brussels and the secretariat is provided by GIRP.

Meetings are co-chaired (by representatives from different sectors) on a rotating basis. Decisions are taken on a consensus basis.

Furthermore, every year in January the network hosts the European Healthcare Value Chain Forum, an event that features informative presentations on supply chain collaboration and allows for insightful exchange among peers. It is followed by an informal networking reception that offers great opportunities to establish closer and trusting relations across the pharmaceutical supply chain
